Syngas · Hydrogen processing
Syngas separation and hydrogen processing around the required product
IGS supports enquiries for cryogenic separation, purification and recovery duties involving hydrogen, carbon monoxide, methane and related syngas streams. Each opportunity is reviewed around the feed composition, product specification, recovery objectives and wider process integration.
Define the whole stream
The molecule matters. The whole stream defines the project.
A hydrogen or carbon monoxide requirement cannot be assessed from product purity alone. The feed source, pressure, temperature, impurities, available utilities, co-products, recovery targets and downstream use all influence the separation route and equipment scope.
IGS provides a structured route for bringing that information into a qualified technical review.
Separation routes
Connect the feed source to the downstream duty.
Syngas can originate from gasification, natural gas reforming, coke-oven gas or refinery and synthesis off-gas. Each source brings a different composition and pretreatment requirement to the separation package.

Hydrogen and carbon monoxide
Define whether the objective is individual H₂ and CO products, a controlled synthesis-gas mixture or recovery from an existing process stream.
Nitrogen wash and co-products
Liquid nitrogen wash may form part of an ammonia synthesis-gas route. Methane and other co-products require their own recovery and handling basis.
Package boundaries
Scope can range from process design and a cold box to an integrated package including pretreatment, compression and storage interfaces.
Equipment reference imagery from technical literature. Configuration and supply scope are defined for each project.
